Hemorrhoids during pregnancy – how to deal with that

Hemorrhoids during pregnancy

Many women (between twenty and fifty percent) who are pregnant suffer from hemorrhoids. This is a very uncomfortable and sadly common problem. The term hemorrhoids is a bit ambiguous as they have a more prominently used name which is piles. No matter what you call them they are essentially the same thing. They are enlarged veins which are caused by a weakening of the vein wall or pressure on the vein.

The reason why pregnant women often suffer from these piles is that the growth of their child creates additional pressure on the veins in the rectum. This can cause a lot of discomfort, especially when sitting down. There are certain positions that put more pressure on the veins in the rectum such as sitting. Many women have bowel problems during pregnancy  such as constipation. This puts additional strain on hemorrhoids and can make the problem worse.

There are several solutions that can be put into effect by pregnant women to counter hemorrhoids. You can see above video and below suggestions for that –

1 #Eat food with Fiber

One of the best methods for treating hemorrhoids is to make sure your bowel movements are regular. This can be done by making sure you have a lot of fiber in your diet. If you have soft regular stools then there will be less pressure on the enlarged veins. However hard stools can cause you to push more, this puts pressure on the area overall. This should be avoided if possible. you can take food with fibers like raw vegetables and fruits or other types of fivers.

2# Drink lots of liquids:

Take at least 8 to 10 glass of water and one to two glass of fruit and vegetable juice each day . Drinking liquid will helps the bowel movement and that reduce the hemorrhoid risk.

3# have some Exercise:

you should have some light exercise like walking and aerobics  or other safe activities for at least two and half hour  in each week . this can help the digestive system do its work but consult with your doctor before starting your exercise.

4# Don”t gain too much weight.

Try to Stay within the guidelines provide by your health care providers. If some one gains weight then its likely that abdomen will  get pressure and have the risk of hemorrhoid.

5# don”t delay when you got the urge

if you don”t go the bathroom as soon as you feel the urge, stool don”t pass easily . and this increase hemorrhoid to the pregnant woman.

6# don”t sit or stand long period of time

Also try to reduce the pressure you put on hemorrhoids by move around during the day and at night.  This can include sleeping on your side to minimize the pressure, and not sitting or standing in an uncomfortable position for any length of time.
